Overview:
This was a solo level that I made for one of my classes. The first week was spent on design documentation and pre-planning. To ensure that we could accurately scope the project to be accomplished by the end of the month.
Initially, I had no clue what I was going to make a level about, but then I got to thinking about things from where I used to live. Then I decided to do a fair level based on the fair I used to go to when I was younger. I knew I wanted rides, but more importantly the scam games.
Despite the level staying in block mesh, I feel like I was able to capture the feel of a small fair. I had 3 different mini games for the player to try to win a prize, one luck based one, one that was timing based, and one that was skill based.
This class was the first to have me specifically collect playtest data to better understand the level and to gather feedback from players.
Overall, it was a fun project to work on. I learned about the importance of documentation and managed to accomplish everything that I has set out to do during the class. As well as getting to recreate my nostalgia in a 3d space. I'm glad that the playtesters enjoyed my level and mini games.

Added currency to encourage the player to consider what they want to spend money and incentivize playing to their interest and strengths.

Added Sprint for player to traverse the fair quicker.

Balloon Pop - Skill based mini game where the player tries to pop as many balloons as possible with 8 darts

Test Your Strength- Timing based mini game where the player has to press spacebar while the bar is 98 percent or more to win.

Ring Toss - Luck based mini game where the player tosses rings in an attempt to get one on the neck of a bottle.
